So, my now ex boss owns a Cold Pressed juice company. When I started working for her I noticed a couple of things that were a bit off, but everyone I've worked for cuts corners so I didn't question… Over the last few months it's gotten to be more and more. For example two months ago she “made a mistake” and ordered 20oz bottles instead of 24oz… I found out when I saw the boxes being delivered… I asked the kitchen manager about it and he said “oh no! You weren't supposed to see these… these are the new size bottles and I'm pretty sure we're using that from now on… but ask the Boss if you have any more questions.”
When she found out that I knew she immediately txted me and said ” hey! Those 20 oz bottles are a mistake! I ordered the wrong ones. We have to use them this week but next week we'll go back to 24 oz. Just pretend you don't know anything and sell them as 24oz! Visually you can't tell… it's only a week, lol! Please don't mention to the other sales rep. I don't want there to be a whole thing.”
a month went by and still the same bottles… and I asked again…
” they wouldn't let me return them so we have to use them! Just a few more weeks…”
“so you're ok lying to customers?”
“It's just a couple more weeks… play ball!”
Ugh…
Other things include claiming less than what she makes at farmers markets and shorts the farmers markets associations thousands of dollars a year.
Discussing and disclosing other Employees health conditions and medications to me. ” don't tell him I told you, but I can't fire him because he may disabled and takes this and that and has this condition as well… he's a huge liability! ”
Ugh.
The BIG kahuna is that
We tell customers that we sell ” freshly cold pressed juice that's flash frozen for freshness!”
She doesn't have a flash freezer and the juice we bring back at the end of market goes back in the freezer for next week… I noticed a date last week (8/20/22) from the last week of June. When I confronted her about it she said I was a “Fucking idiot” and had no clue of what manufacturing practices are…
“Those dates reflect when the bottles are washed and labeled… not when the juice gets put in!”
“Why would you need to date each individual bottle with a date they were labeled? “I asked?
“See you have no fucking clue! Also what are you accusing me of? What is this a threat? I will not be threatened with! Send in your final invoice! I'm sick of your attitude! You're done!”
I have receipts. Lots of them.
Detailed receipts of things she's said and asked us to do and receipts of all the markets I've worked where we claim one number to the markets and report a completely different number to her… what should I do? Is letting parties know what's happening considered retaliation? Someone needs to know! She can't keep on doing these things! It's not right and could be dangerous to her customers. Not to mention the way she treats people when they don't “play ball”…. HELP!?
