Quick question, need some help.

Currently in the process of getting an FMLA for my work, my manager has been pushing me to get it and now that I am finally in the process, it’s becoming an issue. Last week I had an appointment for my dr to go over the forms. I had been in talks with my manager the week before that to try to get my days moved around so I could be accommodated. He ‘forgot’ and kept telling me he wished he knew about it sooner, when he had known all week enough to the point he had reminded me about it. The day comes and I can’t leave early bc hes letting another coworker, who had asked him 24hr prior, if she could leave early for her kids school thing. He says yes. Calls me, telling me he’s called Sedgwick on my behalf, because I had called for a extension…

Calls me, telling me he’s called Sedgwick on my behalf, because I had called for a extension just in case. He called asking about my extension so he could ‘fix things for me’ when in reality he wanted it so I could reschedule my very important drs apt, so my coworker could leave. Telling me it was ‘not that big of a stress level anymore’

This is the vm transcript:

I was calling from a I just got off the phone with him Sedwick this morning so I called they were saying that your date was still the 18th and they weren't trying to extend it but what they did let me know that if you don't get the information in in time it's going to show that they close the case but if you have your appointment at a later date and him know on a date in the future it looks like two weeks um then they just reopen the case so you would still be able to have your appointment at a later point it just reopen the case it will show that it the case is closed but will reopen the case whenever you have your appointment if you want to call just to confirm but I'm letting you know I called and I think her name is Angel it is what I believe her name was him but she'll be able to him I'll be able to give you some insight on that so that the stress level of you not making the appointment has decreased a little bit because they said it will come across as a decline but whenever you send the information and it reopens the same case you don't have to reapply so um I hope that gives your mind a little piece um that that you were that you were looking for so like I said I called this morning and you should be in a good place so um you don't have to worry about leaving early today after all but please make that appointment and get things set up all right thank you I'll talk to you later bye-bye…”

Just very nonchalant about the whole thing when it’s dealing with my mental health.

I ended up leaving half an hour early so I could make my apt. Because at this point she was booked 2 weeks out.

He ended up pulling people into his office the next day to ‘see if i left’ i didnt need his approval because its FMLA.

Am I wrong in thinking he’s having an issue with this? That my mental health would ‘be bad for my office’
