Bartender at a brand new bar.
On day 4 I asked for my shift time for the next day, as she still hadn't gotten a schedule out. She said I opened. We had opened at 12pm days 1-4 so I walked in to tell the patron that asked that I would be in at noon. The owner, standing next to me, confirmed my arrival and said he would try to get there 30 minutes early to unlock and prep everything for me to get there at 11:45.
We opened at 11. She informed me via text at 11:01.
That morning I walk in, late, after texting her back letting her know I didn't get that information. I walk behind the bar, grab the cutting board to start the limes and clock in on my phone since she was using the POS system I normally clock in on. She saw me start working and asked if I had clocked in. I said yes, when I grabbed the cutting board. She said ok.
10 minutes later she calls me aggressively outside in front of customers stating they (her and the two owners) needed to talk to me. I get the um mum mum mum muuummmm…. Look from the customers and I walk outside.
She then cussed me out for being late, stating that I should know our opening time because it's on our social media and I had left a review so there is no excuse, and they the don't pay me to walk across the goddamn parking lot so I better use the POS system behind the bar. She also stated that everything she tells me is in one ear and out the other, which was frustrating for me to hear because she has failed to provide additional training outside of my shift hours after multiple requests from me. I was to be 30 minutes early to all future shifts.
She was late to unlock the doors to let me in 30 minutes before my shift started two days later stating she got hung up on a phone call. I texted her back that it was unacceptable for management to not be prepared to carry out the orders I was complying with and thanked for for the great opportunity. She texted back..
“Lol Ok”
