Quit a job after new managment guilt trips me for calling in sick

I worked as a night auditor at a hotel for about a year. I applied for part time, two days a week. I have therapy two days a week as well. I lost my mom a couple years ago and everyday has felt like a struggle since. Even the good ones. Anyway, I had been feeling burnt out for years at this point but I still needed some sort of income, so two days was perfect. I had no issues for the entire time I was there. I ended up helping them whenever they needed coverage after the full timer quit and inbetween other hires. I never felt overworked. Fast forward to a year later, the hotel gets bought out by another company. It was bad vibes from the START.

They were very disorganized, their training videos were from the 80's, and had zero diversity. There were a lot of spanish speakers at that hotel and no one in managment or corporate spoke anything other than english. TheY fired OUR BEST SUPERVISOR. The kind that would come in for ANYONE if they needed it, very hospitalable with guests and a lot of them looked forward to staying with us BECAUSE OF HER. And slowly but surely, employees that have been there since it opened started leaving.

They started asking me if I was interested in covering day shifts. I said absolutely not. They started asking what I do in my free time and I just kept it brief and curt.

After working there for a year, no calling off, no vacations, I had put in requests off for this summer, BEFORE the company was bought out.

I usually spend time with my family on my moms birthday, and then my birthday is two months later.

On a saturday morning, a couple days before my moms bday, I called in sick. I felt nauseous, sensitive to heat and just sore. The company had only taken over for a month at this point, and A LOT of people quit.

This little mouse of a manager from the new company HUFFS over the phone going “Tsk You know OP we REALLY need to have a discussion about your availability. You did follow the correct protocol but Im working a TRIPLE shift now. You've got so many call offs-” and I interrupted her:

“REQUESTS off? These are the first requests Ive put in since I started here.”

Bitch: “Well it doesnt mean they're approved. We can discuss it with AGM sometime this week.”

“Its for my moms birthday, which is none of your business and shes dead. Which again, is none of your buisiness and you know what, bitch? (Im calling her bitch, but that obviously wasnt her name.) We're not doing that. I quit.”

Bitch: “Well… you can take a couple days I know you arent feeling well.”

“No. You literally jumped down my throat the second Im telling you I dont feel well enough to come in today? I've never called off”

Bitch: “You're unavailable for any coverage.”

“Thats not my job. It doesnt matter, I quit. You really rubbed me the wrong way and this is the first month with the new company and I dont feel comfortable moving forward with a business that cant provide any empathy. I was with previous company for a whole year with no issues and even provided coverage. Does that not matter is it just swept under the rug?”

Bitch: “In a sense, yes.”

“Okay so there is nothing else to talk about. I quit. I dont want a couple days, I quit TODAY.”

Bitch: “…well Im sorry this wouldnt work out better for you. The company needs-“

Me: “Well Im sorry I ever worked for a company lacking empathy and interest in employees mental health.”

THEN SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD MARK ME REHIREABLE

AND AFTER I QUIT HER AGM QUIT.
