Quit my full time job to play music.

I have been working for a electric scooter rental company for almost two years here in Nashville, let's call that company “Lemon” (lol) started as a mechanic for them and made my way up to the lead mechanic making pretty decent money. Last year they made us pack up everything and move into a much smaller warehouse. I worked for 3 months as the only employee for them as we kept losing employees due to pretty crappy working conditions. I have been trying to tell them for months now that the warehouse they moved us into is way too small. They continually transported older and newer versions of the scooters to our tiny warehouse for us to fix and then send back to where they came from due to low employee numbers. I have been trying to tell them for months now that the warehouse they moved us into is way too small. They continually transported older and newer versions of the scooters to our tiny warehouse for us to fix and then send back to where they came from due to low employee numbers. I found myself as the lead technician, in the warehouse all the time, moving and rearranging everything to try and make room and have a steady workflow for the other technicians.

Last week my manager, who is in Orlando, asks to have a skype meeting with me. I say sure. He tells me how my repair numbers are low and how they need to improve. I try to explain to him why I cannot work on the scooters as much as I want to, because I'm stuck in the warehouse all the time. His answer was for me to work harder. I finished the week and turned in my resignation.

I moved here 5 years ago to pursue music and have been doing it on the side for three years. I'm moving into a house with a friend in a few days which will significantly cut my rent in half. I have guaranteed gigs every week downtown here. I don't need that job. Fuck these companies that think all that matter are numbers and profits. I haven't felt this good in 5 years!
