Quit my job, car broke down on my last day, costing me a few £k, no fall back.

tl;dr. In a shit job, quit, car broke down on way home, needs new engine. Might be considered more of a rant, so mods pls delete and DM me if so… So I was in a stressful AF job, UK, utility industry (ICP), driving from Kent – to Birmingham, Cornwall, Milton Keynes, Exeter etc, on the regular (About 5-6h a day of driving – In my own car). Put in my notice with no fallback as the physical and mental stress was killing me. Day I gave back my laptop and phone, my car died. Got it recovered by my mechanic and he has told me it needs a new engine. Just shy of £5k later.. Livid is an understatement, however I feel like this is a blessing in disguise. Not so much right now, but soon… I also feel like that is a sign I should NOT have been…
