I was called in to my managers office yesterday and asked why I have not completed “the mandatory online training”.
I have been with the company for 8 months and work in a healthcare related field and I'm paid a few Euro above minimum wage.
I explained that I had not been provided time during work to complete it and he said “surely you can squeeze in a few hours outside of work to do it”
I said I was “unwilling to do unpaid work.”
His response was “that does not reflect well on your work ethic”.
Having been doing more 12 hour shifts in a week than what is legally allowed to cover covid absences etc and coming on on my days off I was furious.
I explained this and said “to be fair you only pay me x amount per hour”
He said if you're unhappy with your wages you should look for work somewhere else.
My response was OK, what is the minimum required notice? am I not still in the 12 months probation period still?
My god! I've never seen something so fucking funny in my life, the pathetic man scrambling around his desk and stuttering like the piece of shit he is.
He said he'd pay me for completing the work and would be happy to “review my salary”.
I said take this as my notice to quit effective immediately and walked out.
I have 5 missed calls and that condescending ahole is having a full blown crisis.
If you are in an industry in which you're in high demand or have the means to quit and survive for a while, don't take shit and quit if you're not being treated right.
It feels so good.
