Yesterday was my day off, so I had a lot of time to think about this. I’ve been at this company for 5 years. The first 3 were great, even had a raise at one point because they recognized my worth and noticed I did all the work while my co-worker did almost nothing, never showed up on time, left without telling anyone, and was just wasn’t good at it when he did work.
Then I’m transferred to another building for another department, and after dealing with the crap at department for 6 months, I asked to transfer to another department. So they allowed me to do so.
About a year or so into this job, my new manager from this department asks if I want to take on a different role for money, same hours. I reluctantly said yes because it involved dealing with idiotic customers who think everything is my fault. I endured that position for just 4 months. It made me come to hate people, and I noticed that I turned into one of those “dmv” type of workers.
I asked to go back to my previous role. Then my manager asked if I could work Saturdays in exchange for a day off throughout the week and a commission. It was only a 5 hour shift and not much would go on, or so I thought.
It’s still absolute hell. From technicians showing up when they felt like it, to customers angry I can’t take them in when they show up at the last minute, I’ve had enough.
My manager has said for the past month he’ll pull me from Saturdays as he needs me mon-fri at the other position that I do like. But he keeps putting it off. Today, I’m telling take me off Saturdays or here’s my two weeks.
I’ll probably go into Uber eats or something. People say you can make a lot more money there.
