I worked for my current employer for 3 months now. I don’t have an issue with management, but every employee there is so hateful and straight up rude. We’re overworked, and underpaid for the amount of work we are doing. I just decided it wasn’t for me. Luckily I have another job lined up, which pays significantly more. I have enough reasons to quit. For example, it’s incredibly harmful to my mental health and I absolutely dread going there. I’ve never “loved” a job but I’ve never felt this much distain for one either. I’m planning on just emailing my boss tomorrow and letting them know I will be resigning effective immediately. Luckily my state is works under a “at-will employment doctrine.” So I don’t think they will be able to retaliate against me leaving or be able to withhold my paycheck. So for those of you who have done this before, Is emailing okay? And will they be able to screw me over somehow for not giving two weeks? I know these questions probably seem silly but I just feel so guilty for leaving. Ideas on what I should say and support is appreciated!
