I just received a raise making it to where I make 14.50 from 13.50, my co worker who has mostly the same tasks as me makes 16. They just promoted someone to manager because I am requesting 2 days off a week. In doing so my hours are 50 instead of the 60 a week I usually work and prefer to work. The person they just promoted is making 13.50 the same amount I was making up until last week. I've been making that for a little over a year and was originally promised 15 when I agreed to manage 2 stores. I'm fucking done. I want to quit so bad but I deadass can't get into a house because it's fucking 3k to get moved in anywhere, after 1st and last month rent and/or utilities. I make 3100 a month before tax. I am sick of it honestly and if it wasn't my brother in law that's the co owner of the store I would've left already. I told him this the other day so I think he knows its coming. Highly considering training a replacement without telling anyone.
As someone on the poverty line with no real people to ask for help its impossible to get ahead in the US right now. Atleast in TX. Not unless you know someone that can help.
