I work for one of the “big” tech companies, I'm about to lose my job and they're keeping me in the dark. I get the sense they're closing my location due to the fact that everyone wants to work remote now (which I completely understand) but since my position is on-site only I'm most likely being terminated. It just irritates me that I'm not given a heads up. School is almost out and I'll have to pay close to $2000 for my kid's summer care which is almost my entire monthly salary and I'm just upset that I'm going to pay that just to find out I actually will have the summer free since I'll be unemployed. I have been remaining proactive and applying to jobs but haven't heard anything back. I'm scared and feel really down and just don't understand why they can't be honest. On top of all of this, I have to write my annual review and tell them how great of an employee I’ve been just so they can let me go right after.
