Realizing I was a 16 year old pushover

When I was 16, during the peak of quarantine, I got my first job a little East Texan store called Brookshire Brothers. I was proud of my $8 an hour. There was a lot wrong with that store but the worst part was that we had to clock out for our only break during a 8-9 hour shift and it was only 15 minutes. Best part is we had to stay in the store in the deli area with our uniforms on. And we’d get in trouble if we told customers we weren’t clocked in. I really wish I wasn’t such a suck up to my bosses back then. I know my worth as a worker now.
