I applied to a large insurance agency about 9 months ago and spoke to a recruiter, they were offering a base salary of $40K, plus the chance of “performance bonuses.” I told them I’m not interested as my base pay at that time was about $45K plus bonuses.
I got a random call this morning from a recruiter from the same agency asking if I’m in the job market still, I said yes for the right opportunity, I’m still at the same job and now making about $51K base pay. I told her I’d need at least $55K.
She goes into her speal about the job and says that it would be “entry level since we only promote from within, so with that said the base salary wouldn’t quite meet your requirements, we start out at $40K. But you could DEFINITELY reach your goal with performance bonuses!” These bonuses are based on customer feedback which is BS. I know how that goes.
So in this inflationary time we’re in, these assholes haven’t increased their base salary AT ALL? I’m doing basically the exact same job, but for over $10K more a year. Fuck them.
