There seems to be a lot of hate for recruiters, in general here. Understandable, a lot are pretty bad at what they do and can be scummy.
I got into recruiting to help and talk to people, and I’ve always been upfront about expectations. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I work in mortgage and would love to understand if we can help bridge some kind of gap. Would you work with a recruiter that genuinely has a commitment to working with your best interests? How often do you come across that?
