Recruiters, what’s the deal with all y’all? Where’s the solidarity?

I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts anyone on this sub who has dealt with a recruiter during the interview process hates the way recruiters operate. A few examples I can think of offhand; refusing to disclose the salary / salary range, not disclosing the company name until you provide a resume and an interview has been scheduled, lying about the flexibility to work from home, asking for resumes and then making you tediously reenter every detail in a shitty web form, pressuring you to accept a job offer even when they know it’s a shitty deal. Recruiters have it in their power to do more. They could tell you what the salary range is. They could be upfront about a role’s ability to work from home or not. They could inform you when it’s a lowball offer. Why don’t they? I know way too many recruiters who earn way too much money, but despite their ill gotten gains they’re still in the same boat with employees everywhere. They could do more to help, and they should do more to help.
