I interviewed for a new job a couple weeks ago, the first time interviewing for a real, full time job since graduating college. This past year I've just been doing a variety of gig work/part time jobs to make ends meet. I was actually really excited about it.
I was torn how I did on the interview, but they asked to schedule a second interview so I was super excited. It's been almost a month since my first interview, but the manager told me she was going on vacation so we scheduled it for tomorrow. We literally scheduled it over two weeks ago, before she left for her holiday.
Just got an indeed message that they've “gone in a different direction.” Literally less than 24 hours before my in person interview that I scheduled weeks ago. Early afternoon on a weekday. I get that they're trying to be honest rather than interview me pointlessly, but it feels a bit disrespectful of my time to cancel on such short notice, especially for a follow up.
I'm sure I'm being oversensitive and they don't owe me anything. Still, it really sucks.
