Religious accommodations

I just saw a post in a Christian sub about an employee who got denied a schedule change to attend Sunday services. Their boss attends the same church. The OP didn't seem to realize that this is illegal religious discrimination. Which reminded me of the last time I preached on the need for rest and life outside of work, and how its ok, good even, to to request religious accommodations to attend worship. And my congregation just… scoffed. People are so brainwashed into the cult of work that they think its ok to be retaliated against in the work place for asking for a religious accommodation, or that its some insane imposition on their bosses that is unthinkable. Literally putting the comfort and ease of their bosses before worshipping their literal God, let alone their own well being. Just mind boggling.
