I was 17. Working in a car dealer in the UK. I was in the parts department.
They would have me running about doing everything. I remember they had me on the phone placing orders that had to be placed before a certain time. And at the same time, they wanted me to deal with customers that went to the sales desk.
The situation that did it for me was an idiot that worked there sprayed brake cleaner into my eyes when I was getting a car wheel off a shelf. Had to go to hospital for that. The idiot wasn't fired or punished in any way.
So then I gave up. Skived a lot.
One day I was called into the bosses office to be fired. He asked “aren't you bothered?”
No. I really am not bothered.
