Reminder: Proportional Voting is Significantly Better than RCV.

Seeing a lot of hype at the Alaska race, and while it is true that Ranked Choice Voting is better than First Past The Post, (and for some local stuff) it is NOT an improvement for better representation for 3rd parties, and anyone who says so is lying. 3rd Parties barely improve under RCV, and to see the purest example of RCV vs something more representative: Look at Australia's House vs Australia's Senate. There is some extra representation under Ranked Choice Voting, yes, but there's a reason their Two Party Preferred vote is almost always Labour vs National (Conservative). It's also not a 1 to 1 comparison to the USA, but when you think of Germany, Nordic Countries, etc. It's Proportional Representation. Not Ranked Choice Voting. New Zealand uses Proportional Voting too, and as such has better representation of 3rd parties than Australia. Please don't fall for RCV as some…

Please don't fall for RCV as some magic bullet, push for Proportional Voting. (along with the obvious striking etc). RCV is reform, but it's reform that will result in even greater dominance for the two parties. And will then be used as justification at why we don't need a real voting reform.
