I just need to rand a little. I’m moving to another state for my job. I’ll moving in a month and I can’t find a place to live. Every landlord want to see the paystubs before letting me move in. I need to work the job to have paystubs to show, and I need to have a place to live so that I can work that job. What do they expect? Sleeping in my car for the first two weeks? No because I don’t even have a car. This is just a deadlock, a catch 22 that’ll never work out.
The last straw that totally triggered me is that I complained to a landlord that this won’t work for me. And she said she’ll “be nice to me” and offer me an alternative —— which is showing three consecutive bank statements with more than $270k in savings. Can you imagine she casually saying “270k dollars deposit” as if it’s just a couple coins in change? What a considerate way of being nice. She knows that I’m a current student moving for my first job. And she expects me to have that much money? I can’t even tell if she’s really providing an alternative or just wanting to embarrass me. 270k! I’m not even rent a house or anything luxurious, just a freaking two-bedroom.
Why can’t landlords make renting easier? They want my money and I want their apartment. Why do they care so much about my income. I have good credit records and an decent job offer. Just let me move in and freaking kick me out when I’m unable to pay.
