Thoughts on employers encouraging staff to not report near misses? Anyone else had this?
I work at a very large hardware retailer and it seems to be common practice for people to not report near misses for fear of having stuff taken away. Retail colleagues will be familiar with the no stanley knife rule etc. Seems crazy to me this culture is so prevalent in workplaces where we get a few quid above minimum wage at most. Had a few close calls myself and to be honest its so against the grain I dont event want to report it for fear of looking like a do-gooder!
