context, I work at a shoe store in the mall. I’m a dollar above minimum (which I genuinely think may have something to do w the shoe uniform policy) and part time, I am required to wear shoes we sell. They act like it’s a privilege that that’s the only uniform requirement we have. I have chronic back pain. The only brand we DONT carry is nike and I bought a pair just to feel comfortable at work BEFORE I started this job. It makes a world of difference. I am no longer miserable at work due to minimal back and leg pain. I wore them once and was talked to about it. I can’t afford any of the shoes we carry on practically minimum wage and none of them would work for my back anyway. I wore the shoes I’m supposed to wear yesterday and got a blister ON MY WAY to the job. I don’t have a car and this job is within the mile of my house so I don’t have many options.
