I work for a pretty small company, less than 10 people total. I've been working from home for almost three years now and I thought doing just fine with it, but apparently there have been some communication issues so they've been requiring us all to work in the office again on the weekends, our busiest times, on their very slow ancient computers, with one monitor when I've grown accustomed to two. I protested and was threatened to be fired so I've been doing it and told if it goes well they'll be looking into it. Just got an email today that starting next month all shifts will be in the office because of 'how well it has gone.' So fucking mad right now. Is there any way people know of that I can fight this? I've already said fuck it and applied to a lot of new jobs but I honestly like this one. I'm comfortable here. Not to mention they will be completely fucked when I leave because I basically run the whole place…
In Ontario, Canada btw, so none of that American 'at will' laws. Just wondering if legally there is any way that I can fight this or make an argument they might give pause to threatening firing over.
