Little backstory. I work at a psychiatric hospital and rehab center as a cook. My boss keeps saying I don’t care and have a bad attitude which couldn’t be farther from the truth. We have a meeting with the cfo because we served French fries yesterday instead of potato wedges and I was told the sloppy joes today will look “ridiculous “ with wedges instead of crinkle cut fries. So at the meeting I will read this letter and hand in my two week notice. “I’ve never missed a shift. Never been late. I pick up shifts out of my availability. I’ll come in early and I’ll stay late. I worked the day after my dad died and only took one day to mourn because I know we’re short staffed. Im always in a good mood. The patients like me. Im always nice to everyone. I try to make the patients laugh to brighten their day because I know they’re in a bad spot in their lives when they’re here. Most know me by name especially the kids. I never miss a special diet order which happens a lot in the morning in the south building. I even draw smiley faces on the special diet trays. Im always kind to my coworkers and try to make them laugh. I try and fill out all logs and forms correctly every shift and I am basically the only one who fills out the temperature logs correctly with temps for each group. Im tired of being told I don’t care. It’s a completely false accusation. I understand following the menu but it seems a little overblown that we are here because we served a different form of French fry. “
