Return To Office Annoyed

Today out of nowhere just got an email that I’m going to be required to return in the office 3 days a week. To say it was a a shock was an understatement. Had no warning and no indication that my current working arrangement of only having to go in 1 day a week was going to change in the near future. The return occurred in February to just once a week after working at home for 2 years. So they cited a Wall Street Journal article about how other industries are returning and what not. So they cited a Wall Street Journal article about how other industries are returning and what not. The reason given was that we’ve lost collaboration abilities. Like what the hell I sit on my computer have little interaction with anyone and work my day. So now I have to go back in 2 extra days and do the exact same thing I would do at home. To say I’m pissed is an understatement. I’ll be acting my wage from now on I don’t like to use the other term that’s been coined. I’ll be in the market for a new job I know that. Completely lost trust in the company today. It’s such a bs excuse and upper management talking point when they say performance is not the issue and hasn’t suffered but collaboration has been lost. This just makes me not want to collaborate at all. Just say your buildings need to be used and quit making bs excuses about collaboration.
