This may not be the right place to ask but I need opinions. I’m a Facilities Manager of a mental health company. I maintain 4 buildings that are located on 2 different properties. I supervise the janitorial crew also. My company fired the van driver, and they assigned the evening routes to me. I stated how I didn’t believe this was fair. They have plenty of employees that work for the department that requires a van driver. My boss basically told me that he didn’t see how me taking on someone else’s position was not fair. He says it is only temporary. This happened 3 months ago. They have 2 employees who are rotating the morning routes, every other day; but I’m having to drive the evening routes everyday. I have plenty of maintenance work to do but driving the van is impeding me. I’ll add this; I will be considered “vested” with state retirement in October. So I can’t reasonably quit until after I am vested with retirement. What would you guys do? When I voiced my concerns about this 3 months ago, the boss made my job hell for a month.
