So my roommate has been working this job as a general manager at a carwash for about 3 months now. He was making 1000 a week but was working 12 hour days and has about 3 full days off in total since working there. He has been getting in arguments with his boss everyday because they are expecting way to much from him. This includes driving between 100-350 miles a day between locations with $0 in gas compensation, working 8-12 hour days and never really knowing when he's allowed to go home, forced to do maintenance work on top of managing all the locations and doing so in very unsafe working conditions, going and dealing with very unsafe and sketchy people and places, the list kinda goes on and on.
The last few weeks they have been very secretive about my roommate's role in working with them and he just received his check today for about $450, about half his original paycheck. Apparently his boss demoted him down to a manager to one location but never mentioned that his pay was also getting lowered.
It sucks because now we're fucked because we have to pay rent that we're already kind of late on we were both expecting $1,000 with this check. I have enough in my account and some in savings and him in savings too to get by for this month so we will be ok.
I just know for a fact that his employer has been fucking him over and other employees over and they have been doing a lot of sketchy things regarding their taxes and financials, and I'm pretty sure they have a ton of violations for OSHA.
I guess I'm just trying to look for the first steps in trying to report any or all of this I'm not sure what we shouldn't report what we should report.
