Sad day today

Some sad news in my household. Since my wife's most recent surgery, we can no longer afford daycare for my son. My wife and I are paycheck to paycheck and given the financial circumstances, it's more feasible to for her to quit and him to stay home with her. She loves the job but hates that every cent is going towards our monthly payments and with the daycare, there's nothing left saved. Since I am the one who earns more, I'll continue to work so she can be with him at home. The more ironic part is that with what I earn annually, it's still just marginally high enough to pass the poverty line for childcare assistance. Yes, we applied for the program, we don't qualify. At this point it's either we go broke to qualify and suffer, or mislead the government and report inaccurate income, which isn't for me.…

I'm more disappointed for my son than anything else. We'll survive, but it's a lost opportunity for him.
