Salary to hourly?

I just accepted a new position about two months ago for an analyst job with a company I had worked with for almost a decade. They asked my salary requirements and I gave them my range. It took them a week to respond and they stated they needed time to get approval to confirm I could be hired for the yearly rate I gave them. Fast forward and I accepted the position with the rate I asked but now the company is telling me that my position is not even allowed to be salary and they are moving me to an hourly wage. They resent my offer letter and are telling me to sign again for the new hourly rate (which actually reduces my salary by about $5 over the year, funny they went that way instead of paying me the better end of the calculation). Any suggestions on how…

Any suggestions on how I deal with this? I’m honestly considering looking for a new job purely out of precedent.
