Sales Manager Set to Fail?

I'm not a frequent Reddit poster – but what I saw here was so bizarre I had to post it here. We have a business development director, a sales manager, and a sales rep at the company. The BDD oversees the sales manager who oversees the one sales rep. The BDD makes about 150k a year, while the other 2 positions make 35k base + 10k commission there used to be a lot more sales reps but they all quit a few months ago. Recently, the sales manager found out a job posting for a new sales rep position that pays $55k on Indeed for our company! She brought it up to the BDD and she said once the new sales rep starts the management pay will move up to the new rate. Everything seems kosher, only the next day the sales rep role was deleted from Indeed an no longer exists at all. Absolutely baffling. Lately, the manager gets picked on and all their ideas are dismissed and is always talked down on in what seems in an effort to make her quit.

I work in digital marketing so I work closely with the sales team but they don't really know what kind of stuff I work on so we mostly leave each other alone thankfully. There is of course tons of other issues with the company, but these actions I've never heard of anywhere but here.
