Salon wants us to overcharge clients because we are being accused of theft.

The salon I work for offers discounts for seniors, apparently they've noticed a bump in senior discounts being given out and assume that it is stylists purposely mislabeling clients to make more in tips. I highly doubt this is actually happening. The company recently bumped the price of all haircuts and it pissed a lot of their clientele off but seniors still come because they get a discount, and they also don't take into account that clients may be lying to us that they qualify to get the discount because they bumped the price, it is always assumed we will try to find ways to cheat the company out of any money we can. So, they have told us to mark every single person as a full price haircut regardless if they are obviously a senior or child and we cannot ask them if they qualify for the discount, or even mention that we have it, we have to leave it to the client to hopefully notice that they are being overcharged and tell us that they qualify now, most people have not and will not notice and will just deduct that extra money out of the tip. After one day of implementing this bullshit backwards rule I've already seen a pay cut in tips which is my main income source at work.

This salon constantly accuses stylists as a whole in the company of stealing and trying to cheat the system any way we can, and quite frankly I'm fucking sick of it and insulted. I should not be forced to overcharge clients and take a pay cut for “theft” that could just be corporate losing money because they made a shitty business decision by bumping haircut prices at an undesirable time.
