I was watching some shows today and a Jet's Pizza commercial came on. It reminded me of a time when I applied for delivery job with Jet's. I got an interview and went in. We went though all the usual interview questions and was basically guaranteed the job but at the end, the interviewer said that I'd have to shave my beard as “facial hair is unprofessional and against company policy”. Mind you, the guy interviewing me had a goatee and my own facial hair wasn't unkempt or dirty. In fact I had bairly more than 5 o'clock shadow. I asked why this was the case and the only answer was “delivery drivers directly represent the company and need to be clean cut”. I also had quite long hair at this point which he hinted at being an issue. I noped out of that interview so fast. I could have understood if I had a lice infested and smelled of shit.
