saw my company president’s framed Trump painting for the last time

Worked for an office for a month and it was everything that I could want in a job while I focus on my writing career. Very small, quiet, there was some background music and a lot of flexibility on when breaks/lunch could be taken. The only glaring problem – which was indeed a problem – is that this office was extremely right wing leaning and didn't care to take that talk out of the office; the head boss had a painting of Trump on his office wall like he was George Washington. They also kept strictly FOX News on the waiting room and served this same clientele. Being a trans man in that environment was very, very hard. In fact, I went for passing as dfab which was fine for awhile but it became very disheartening. Not even mentioning how I'd hear conversations between my co-workers about how Ukraine is…

Not even mentioning how I'd hear conversations between my co-workers about how Ukraine is the aggressive party, the libs should be shot and women's work talk that came straight out of the 60s.

Eight hours a day of masking and it's exhausting. My co-worker used the term 'career' for my work here too just a week ago and it gave me a bit of a panic attack later that night because I hate the person who works there and just tolerates this talk for the 16 bucks an hour.

This week, I had to take two days off in the beginning due to my grandmother needing held euthanizing her dog of 14 years and it was extremely sad. Then this friday, I had to take off because I've got a stomach bug that's confirmed contagious from getting my partner and a friend I hung out with sick. I told them that I can do the task I needed to complete from home since it was just a form that required designing, then was contacted by my temp agency to be told I was getting terminated.

I'm extremely torn up about it and wish that I wasn't because this environment was draining me. I wouldn't even kiss my partner in view of our windows because we live in the South and it seemed like asking for trouble when I know their views.

I can find something better but that doesn't make the stress about paying this month's bills any less. Or help my weird feelings that're on one point kinda relieved – I couldn't have left on my own – and also devastated because finding another small office job in this area might be difficult. Autism makes the environment so important and somewhere quiet is crucial – alas, my bills don't respect me like that so it's back to the job hunt today.

I also can't help the feeling that my clearly short haircut and sometimes throwing in my own mild Liberal[tm] opinions didn't help them wanting me around. Hard sigh

At least that Trump painting will only be in my nightmares now.
