My job told me that I can’t use my PTO days, due to too many people having already called out on those days.
I requested this PTO, 3 weeks in advance, when I got the date set for my medical procedure.
My team is made up of about 12 people. Since I’ve been here, about 6 people have either left or been fired, though they were exceptional workers. It seems that they all had “attendance issues” according to management. They haven’t hired enough people to fill those 6 spots.
My manager advised me that I could just take the days off anyway, and provide a doctor’s note, to excuse any occurrences.
Doctor’s excuses can be accepted “at their discretion.”
Suffice to say, I will be terminating my employment immediately.
