But screw my manager. Truly. Screw ‘em. I work at a restaurant, I recently got a second job (literally last week..) I was going to talk to my manager about it on Christmas Eve while we were there but got really bad news from my mom about my younger brother which threw me off for the rest of the night, thus, I decided not to talk to him yet. Sunday comes, and I discover I got one day on my schedule this week which was Monday. I go in and ask him about it immediately, he says we’ll talk later. “Later” never comes, I finish my shift and go home, I call the next day and the person who answered said to call back today (Thursday), of course I’m pissed because I literally live off my tips, I spent my check on Christmas gifts for my close family so I decided it’s fine because I could just use my tips throughout the week to keep myself fed. But whatever, I figured it out, so I call today around 12 and he’s not there yet so I said I’ll call back later. I call back at 9 because we close at 10 and I know for a fact around this time he’s not busy because everything is starting to shut down and everyone is cleaning up, usually he’s outside smoking or on his phone somewhere, I wait for half an hour just for the person who answered to tell me that he’s “busy”. Not only is my schedule issue not resolved but this means that my check is gonna be tiny tomorrow and next Friday because I worked basically no days. What makes me the angriest has to be the fact that I feel like he’s acting as if this isn’t important to me just because I have a second job. Both jobs are important to me, now any and all money I get within the next two weeks is strictly for rent with the small hope that I’ll have the $500 I need to pay rent next Friday .
