Hello!
I recently attended the yearly Christmas retreat at an all-inclusive resort with my company which is a Tech startup which I have been working at for 3 months now after graduating college this year. There is a group of 70 people who came, and as my family doesn't celebrate Christmas, I decided to go just to be a part of the culture and to have a free week at the resort. When we arrived on Saturday, the first day of activities was on Sunday. It consisted of getting familiar with the resort and meeting and mingling with everyone. I felt a bit alone as there weren't any other girls my age there, but there were a couple of older women who I knew a little bit. The first day went well, although I was quite tired from the plane ride the day before.
On Sunday, we had a meet and greet outside and it was incredibly hot, so I, like others, wore a swimsuit. Everything was going well and I was starting to relax a little until I crossed paths with my team lead's boss, who I had only spoken to a few times over Slack when he reviewed my work. He introduced himself and was very cordial, and as I am naturally very shy, I just nodded and smiled while he talked quickly about business. He then asked to take a photo together and said that he had been taking one with everyone and how thankful he was for us all to be there. I nervously agreed and handed my phone to someone else to take the photo. Afterwards, he smiled and asked me to send it to him on Slack, which I did, cropping the photo and adding some filters on it because i admittably did not look good due to jet lag then sent it to him.
Later that night, I checked the activities schedule before going to bed because I knew I had laser tag at noon the next day and wanted to make sure I had enough time to get ready and have breakfast. That's when I noticed that all of my activities for the week had changed from what they were the previous day. Every single activity assigned to me for the next three days involved outdoor and beach activities such as volleyball, sand soccer, tug of war, frisbee games, and balance/obstacle courses. It seemed strange, but I thought maybe everything had been shifted. I checked to see who else was assigned to those same time slots and noticed that my bosses' boss (man in photo) is on every single one of those activities and was even my team captain for each of them. Is this just a coincidence or does it seem suspicious to anyone else? I'm a textbook overthinker and have anxiety, so I'm not sure if I'm overanalyzing or not. It just feels like a really big coincidence that the day after meeting him in person briefly, I am now assigned to all of the same time slots and activities as him. I'm really anxious and it's ruining my vibe. Should I just go with it and stop being a complainer?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
(I've attached the photo here for reference (photoshopped out the background and the people so it cant be narrowed down) and please be respectful is all i ask)
