I work at a small nonprofit with a big budget and I was recently offered a promotion, but I was told I couldn't start working in that role until the org hires my replacement for my current position. It has been 2 months and they aren't any closer to hiring someone. How absolutely screwed am I getting? What should I do to advocate for receiving my higher pay now?
I'm really struggling and it's going to get even worse when my partner starts summer vacation and we both have to pay student loans again. Thank you in advance.
