Seeking opinions about my attitude towards cover letters on applications… it’s all bullshit IMO

So, I’ve been a teacher for the past three years. I’m single and barely surviving on my salary and I won’t be getting a raise until NEXT school year. All that to say, I’m putting myself out there and randomly applying to jobs. I’m mainly using Indeed for this process. I know that cover letters are expected, but honestly, I just can’t be fucking bothered. Are they necessary? I’ve applied to four or five jobs recently and haven’t heard anything. My anxious brain tells me it’s because I haven’t written cover letters, but these things already make you fill out your entire resume even though you send them the damn thing. I am ranting but I just want some thoughts on this!
