Separation of church and state?

Hi all, I’m not American so won’t pretend I have a deep understanding at all, but from what I have seen on news and other Reddit discussions their is a statement or phasing within the 1st amendment basically suggesting the government make no laws based on religion. If that is correct then wouldn’t that mean the Supreme Court cannot overturn Rowe vs Wade? Don’t get me wrong it is a deeply emotive subject that I’m not looking discuss itself here, but as most of the pro life arguments are essentially grounded in religion, can they be used? If a law is overturned/made based on religious believe is that breaking the separation of church and state?
