My coworkers and I thankfully had the transparency to share our annual merit increase % with each other and apparently within our team it ranges from 4-7% without promotion. However we found out that in another team the merit increase figures in the double digits. We're in 1 company and were wondering how this could've been unbiasely quantified. How come the internal range for employees performing at the same rate varies by that much. HR practioners, let me know your thoughts.
