This story is from Austria, Europe. The chamber of commerce claims there is a shortage of 50.000 workers in food service industry.
The usual monthly salary for workers is about 2000 Euro per month. One restraunt owner, seriously trying to find workers, offered 3200 Euro per month. He got more applications than ever and by his own words found a top notch guy and several people who he thinks are potential hires for the future.
This is the very exception though, buisness rather cry all day, beg and search for years than pay a decent wage. Often even claiming its not about pay, I could offer more but still no one would show up.
