Did great leaders in history have coaches? As far as I know, they had.
Most important is that the business leader takes on responsibility & accountability for their actions. That means not giving up his or her decision-making towards the coach.
The coach should never interfere with the decision-making of a business leader. Instead, a coach just helps the leader get clarity to make his or her decision.
Though, from my point of view it is clear and no wonder, I would suggest business leaders have a coach. Or at least use coaching when they feel it might be helpful. https://futurexwork.substack.com/
