Let me preface this by saying that both jobs are small-scale part-time restaurant gigs, so this isn’t life-or-death and I’m very aware of that. However, it’s big to me right now and I’d love any advice anybody might be able to offer.
I work part time (~18-24hrs/wk) at Restaurant A, for $13/hr. And I’d be content with this if I hadn’t recently learned that two new hires are being paid notably more than me and are being trained for management, despite my being there for a full month before the senior of the two being hired.
They also both recently received raises, in one of their cases to nearly three full dollars an hour more than what I make. We still have the same title, responsibilities, and work comparable hours. I have an interview at Restaurant B on 8/8. It’s a nicer place than A and I hope to make more money, but I’d even take a pay decrease just for a change of scenery. My job at A is grinding my soul into dust.
So in y’all’s opinion, should I ask for a raise at A, or, assuming I get B, quit and take it?
