I work for a pretty large company and our department has high turnover. Usually, they give us raises once per year in the 2-5% ballpark and base it on “performance” when in actuality, its based on tenure. Anyway, the company for the last six months have been giving us 3% raises each quarter just to keep up with the payrate that new hires get solely based on tenure. This essentially is amounting to us seeing an 9% raise over the course of 6 months. Whereas normally we'd get such a pitiful amount it wouldn't be noticed.
Should I be offended by this?
