I've been out of work 4 weeks for a surgery I needed. Could have stayed out longer but didnt, came back when I felt able and the doctor cleared me. 4 days in to my 1st week back and I find out a family member whose had cancer passed away this morning. I'm apprehensive about mentioning this to my boss because I've just come back to work. I know I shouldn't feel like this but I cant be the only one that would be thinking the same in this situation can i?
