Should I give my boss 2 weeks notice?

I’ll start by saying my job is sketchy – we did not sign legal documents for the employment, I only provided my SIN number to my employer. He also often calls us in to work last minute. Like the night before, but gets huffy when I’m sick or when I gave him a weeks notice I wanted a day off. My boss understaffs us. It’s a restaurant where it’s 2, max 3 servers on the floor each night, and often he makes the third server leave early so he doesn’t have to pay us as much. Since it is a casual part time job where he only shifts me for a minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 hours, am I obligated to give him notice? He also made me work on labour day, and does not give breaks for days I work more than 4 hours as scheduling is…
