Should I go back to my job or quit for good?

I attempted to do job abandonment a few days ago because I’m tired of the late shifts with no coworkers to help (whether they’re physically there or not) my manager called, “concerned” and out of anxiety, I claimed to be sick and they urged me to call out so I wouldn’t be pointed out (although I should be). That job causes me great anxiety, customers are always irate, and coworkers/management is constantly hiding while I have to manage the store. The only reason why I’m considering going back, is because I have yet to have heard back from multiple applications on indeed, and the job im considering leaving pays $12 while minimum wage in my state is still 7.25 (the only jobs available that provide a livable wage are far out and I currently don’t have a car but the job I have, is only a little over a mile…
