Should I go to HR?

I work at a well known staffing agency. It’s been a WILD RIDE. I am currently taking another job at a pay cut no less to get away from my very spiteful manager. More context below – but ever since I turned in my notice, my work from home hours have been taken away completely and my PTO has been denied. I want to go to HR. This is not the first time I’ve tried to leave – I once put in for a transfer and it was stopped because my Manager’s boss let me know “he apologized.” The first time I tried to leave was because D (my manager) kept insisting that I needed to dress “approachably” in our line of work AKA no more “dressing above what we do.” I staff for warehouses so he felt like I should dress more casually. My professional attire irked him. I also always wore heels. Whenever I needed to visit a warehouse, I kept OSHA compliant protective footwear in the car.

I have a SUPER DUPER bubbly personality. I got into HR because talking to people is the best part of my job. Some do take it personally and try to cross established boundaries. One time, someone came in to our office with a love letter for me and I didn’t know how to deal with it. It made me extremely uncomfortable and the gentleman refused to leave so I got my manager involved. His exact words were “I can’t say I’m surprised. You need to tone your personality down because you’re giving people the wrong impression. You’re at a ten and I need you at a 7. When you meet our clients in this male dominated industry, I think it would make your job a lot easier if you make up a fake boyfriend and insert it into the conversation.” I was completely taken aback. When I asked him if he really thought making up a fake man whose boundaries should be respected more than mine was a good idea, his response was “yeah I know I know but it’s the way of the world.”

There’s so much I haven’t listed here. I have one week left at this shitty branch (I’m moving into a different part of the company) but he’s making it a living hell. I want to go to HR. What do you guys think?
