I'm coming from r/advice and another user recommended I post my question here.
So I'm currently making 15/hrs no benefits, managing a family owned small hotel. I decided to leave and put in my two weeks notice, currently set to leave on the 19th. I found a different job that pays 14.32/hr and has full benefits (health, dental, vision, life, 401k, 120hrs pto) and has tons of room for upward growth in that industry.
My boss is pleading with me to stay and said I could make whatever demands I want. The demands I plan to make are 55k/y salary, 120hrs pto, $500 yearly budget for use on staff, like buying lunches or something, and my own office. They already said they can't give any of the standard benefits like the new job.
For my current job there's a reason I'm leaving. Boss doesn't really do anything for the hotel because he's cheap and wants to spend as little money as possible. So we get complaints that can be fixed but he refuses to do so, like ptac leaks. Couple that with very unreliable staff working under me because the boss pays min wage to them, and it makes the job very stressful.
Should I leave my job and take the long term goal or should I stay for the short term life upgrade?
I do work in at at will state, so I could be fired for nearly any reason at either job.
