Should I not have said this to my supervisor?

So I've mentioned this on here before, but my workplace does not give raises at all. I mentioned to my boss yesterday that although I like where I work I'm really struggling financially, and her suggestion was to get a certification, and work OT. Today I noticed a position in the company was posted that (I believe) pays a bit more than my current one. I emailed her, so that she wouldn't be blindsided if I apply, and told her again that while I love where I currently am I'm just not making enough to meet my needs, and would like to explore other opportunities within the company. I would have told her in person, but she has COVID, and is working from home. It's been a few hours, and she hasn't replied. It's been a few hours, and she hasn't replied. Thats fine, she's sick, she doesnt need to be constantly checking her emails. I read this email to my sister, and boyfriend, and they both said it sounded as if I was threatening her. Like I was giving an ultimatum to try and recieve a raise. That was not my intention at all. I like my boss, and her input is very valuable to me. Now I'm worried that it came off in the wrong way.

UPDATE:

My supervisor just called me back. She spoke to someone from HR, and they said if I switched positions it would be a lateral move, so I would not recieve a raise in my pay. Another coworker has worked this position, and she said the pay difference between my current position, and this new one was significantly higher. I asked if the reason was because I don't have enough experience, or because I haven't been here long enough, or if that's just what the position pays now. She said she doesn't know.

I'm pissed
